Hello everyone!

I understand that the title may be a tad bit misleading but you will understand just in a bit that it’s not.

“What pops up in the head, when you think about cupcakes and croissants?”

~ Breakfast, a nice sunny morning, maybe a Paris cafe, some music, the smell of coffee maybe!

This blog is exactly about this, finding the little things in life and romanticizing them, and bringing joy back into our monotonous lives. A little wordplay made you smile and almost smell these freshly baked goods, so why not make normal exciting?

Imagery as it is known in the poetic sense refers to a figure of speech that aims to draw out a visual representation of a scene.

Imagery can be used as a very strong powerful meditative tool.

Guided imagery is a mind-body intervention by which a trained practitioner or teacher helps a participant or patient to evoke and generate mental images that simulate or re-create the sensory perception of sights, sounds, tastes, smells, movements, and images associated with touch, such as texture, temperature, and pressure, as well as imaginative or mental content that the participant or patient experiences as defying conventional sensory categories, and that may precipitate strong emotions or feel in the absence of the stimuli to which correlating sensory receptors are receptive.

So, for all those times when you have trouble concentrating, had a rough day at work, felt lonely, or just wanted to relax, this could be a highly efficient tool.

Beach Please… The Bahamas Life!

You can imagine yourself in wherever place you choose to, imagine doing any activity that you please, tricking your mind into believing that you are finally living the Bahamas life!

Some would rush into me and argue that what I am suggesting is a waste of time, call it day-dreaming or fantasizing even, but I would highly urge you to give it a try.

So, here’s a Do-It-Yourself!

Choose a comfortable spot, could be on a rug on the floor in your room, could be your balcony or terrace, somewhere away from people. Make sure that the chosen place has proper ventilation and dim lightings. Try to avoid crowded spaces or you know people chatting, the external cacophony of the birds, traffic is fine. Sit down and before you begin, take your time, it can be 5 mins or 10 mins, to steady your breath. This is very important as it will help your body to loosen and give you a grip over the present moment. Close your eyes, and now imagine a place or a situation that you truly desire. It could be you in an empty cafe or pub at the night, humming an 80’s song, strumming your guitar, or it could be you in the mountains, it could be anywhere that you can imagine. Let your imagination run wild, and for those 30–40 mins imagine yourself doing exactly what you would love doing the most, at a place where you would love doing it. Believe in the imagination so much that every movement in your present surrounding, the wind on your cheeks, the sounds of the room everything gets synced with your imagery. Imagine the little things as well, like what kind of chairs are present in the cafe, or what color are the leaves on the trees, which song you’re singing, the color of the posters on the wall. Everything! ✨
